Holland: Dutch school finds peaceful approach to defuse religious misunderstanding

The Heemde II, a Christian-Protestant school in Almelo, Holland, which years ago was only attended by Christian students, but now, because of changing demographics in the area only has Muslim students, remained faithful to its Christian Charter. Director Theo Plezier of the Heemde II says, "this means that every day we continue to pray, sing and read out of the bible, based on Protestant-Christian doctrine. The parents and the kids don't mind, because when they register their kids we make sure to inform them exactly what our curriculum includes. We hope our approach will not only give the Muslim kids a better understanding of Christianity, but we also get educated on the Koran and the Muslim religion." Theo Plezier seems to have found a peaceful approach in defusing religious misunderstanding.
