French PM upbeat on economy

Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin predicted France`s economy would grow by 2 percent this year, despite evidence otherwise. The International Monetary Fund said the economy would likely grow only 1.75 percent.
In a wide-ranging interview on Europe 1 radio Tuesday, de Villepin also added the latest European warning against suggestions Tehran may resume controversial nuclear activities. "Iran must keep the engagements it has made," the French Prime Minister told the radio station. "These engagements are engagements of suspending all activities of converting, retreating and enriching uranium."
