British capitalism is at a crossroads
Sometimes it seems like the entire country is on the verge of a succession crisis. Starting at the top, the Queen is nearly 80 and, alas, will not go on forever; Tony Blair has said he will depart, but will not say when or whether Gordon Brown will follow him; the Conservatives are in the midst of an extended leadership contest; and the rumour mills at Westminster suggest the Lib Dems are about to copy them.
