France says latest EU offer on farm trade exceeds mandate
The EU's latest offer on farm trade in WTO talks is 'incompatible' with the EU commission's negotiating mandate, French Agriculture Minister Dominique Bussereau said. Bussereau, addressing the French Senate, was referring to a proposal to reduce European Union tariffs on imports of farm goods in a range of 35 to 60 pct, unveiled last week by EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson.
