Strong earthquake rattles Greece, Egypt

ATHENS (AP) — A strong undersea earthquake shook Greece on Sunday and was felt as far away as Egypt, officials said. The temblor had a preliminary magnitude of 6.7 the U.S. Geological Survey said. The Athens Geodynamic Institute said it was a magnitude 6.4 and took place near the island of Kythira, about 12.5 miles south of Athens. No injuries were reported, but the airport in Kythira suffered minor damage, authorities said. The earthquake was felt in Cairo, about 745 miles southeast of the epicenter, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
