Garden show celebrates Holland's contributions

Images of the magnificent floral Dutch masters spring to life at this year's 63rd Annual National City Cleveland Home & Garden Show with a dazzling array of tulips, daffodils, flowering shrubs and trees and giant windmills. The show joins the global celebration of Dutch artist Rembrandt's 400th birthday with "Holland in Bloom: A Dutch Masterpiece."

Holland is more than windmills, wooden shoes and tulips. The region is part of the culturally sophisticated country of the Netherlands and is home to one of the world's largest seaports, Rotterdam. "It is the gateway to Europe," said Bernadine Matavavan Kessel of Hudson. With a heavy industry base that includes chemicals and electronics, the Netherlands is also known for its dynamic architectural projects, world-famous art collections including 1,100 museums, as well as magnificent flower fields.
