"The great failing of religions to society has been that they have been unable to maintain tolerance and prevent conflict. The actions of the Crusaders were un-Christian, just as the actions of Muslim terrorists are un-Islamic. Religions have been distorted by many for their own benefit (e.g. the caste system) and quite contrary to the fundamental teachings of the religion itself. Oh, that religion was still the opiate of the masses rather than the unwitting cause of great strife!"
