(AGI) - Rome, April 12 - Honorary President of the Republic, Francesco Cossiga launched an appeal to the President of the Republic to give the job to Prodi "without waiting 40 days, during which something or other could occur. Cossiga said: "Silvio Berlusconi should render a service to the country, that perhaps will be his last, and avoid further bad images of Italy. Go to the Presidential Palace and resign to avoid a dangerous void. If President Ciampi should reject his resignation Berlusconi should confirm it and go to the Bahamas because he no longer counts for anything. He is a nothing. The leader of the opposition has been boycotted by the people."
