Gyurcsany's Socialists Lead in Hungary
The governing Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) holds a slight edge heading into this weekend’s legislative election, according to a poll by Szonda Ipsos 46 per cent of decided voters would vote for the Socialists, while 43 per cent would support the opposition Citizens Party (Fidesz).
The Alliance of Free Democrats (SZDSZ) is third with five per cent, followed by the Hungarian Democratic Forum (MDF) with three per cent. Support for the Socialists increased by three points since February, while backing for the other parties remained stable.
