DR inaugurates renewable energy test center
SANTO DOMINGO.- The Cibao, Inc. Ecological Society (SOECI) and the Fund for Small Environmental Subsidies inaugurated yesterday the Renewable Energy Production Center of Manacla in the Tip Diego de Ocampo pick, Santiago.
The Agro- Ecology and Clean Energy Center facilities consist of 5 self-sufficient buildings fed from alternative electrical sources which are: two wind powered generators capable of producing 1,8 KW, one hydroelectric module with a turbine producing 1 KW and a module composed of 24 solar panels with a 1,8 KW capacity. Also, the center counts with a digital weather station dedicated to monitoring climatic changes in the area.
