IRAQ: PRODI SHOWS WITHDRAWAL AGENDA TO EU PARTNERS
Vienna, Jun 13 - Romano Prodi showed European colleagues the Italian agenda for the withdrawal of Italian troops from Iraq: firstly at the meeting with Austrian Chancellor and current EU President Wolfgang Schuessel. "We spoke about our worries on the situation in Iran and I showed him the Italian agenda on Iraq," explained Prodi in the joint press conference with Schuessel. "We discussed these international problems because I consider the EU President's office to be an essential point of reference and because I have an old and deep esteem for the chancellor." The situation in Afghanistan was not discussed, "But our relations are strong and we will do so on another occasion."
