To Be or Not to Be: Future of Newspapers

A newspapers vitality lies not in the vaunted power to enlighten the public, stimulate a wave of popular feeling, and finally change the flow of history, but as a working-day prerequisite, and friendly companion of common life. If the press is generally appreciated for what it is rather than what it pretends to be, it continues to occupy a unique cultural position in the face of competition and challenge from present and future. As long as there is someone who feels comfortable and safe in returning to reality after a long journey by noticing the newspapers delivered at his door, the traditional media shall not easily vanish from the stage of life.
