The War of USA Against Terror is not Achievable says Johan Galtung-by Sahin Alpay

The UN has already been crippled by the USA, politically and economically - this is only one more act of that sad drama. But the basic problem is the combination of veto power for 5 members and monopoly on security problems for 15. Those who argue for democracy should today sponsor a Uniting for Peace initiative by the General Assembly rather than build on fragile ambiguities around the word "cessation".
Johan Galtung is a well known expert of international relations, and pioneer of studies on peace and conflict resolution studies. He founded Peace Researches Institute of Oslo in 1959 and was appointed as the first professor of peace studies at the University of Oslo in 1977. He lectured in American Universities such as Princeton and Columbia, worked in advisory boards of many international institutions and participated in the negotiations about various conflict resolution works. He also developed the theory on "negative-positive peace" and "peace journalism". He is a member of the Democracy Committee of the UN since 2004. Earlier the Turkish Zaman newspaper also interviewed him about current peace and conflict issues in Turkey and other parts of the World.
