Finish Centre Party and PM Matti Vanhanen stay in Power
Partial results after the close of Finland's parliamentary elections have shown that Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen's Centre party has a marginal lead over the Social Democrats and Conservatives. Official results have shown that Vanhanen's party was leading after about 40 per cent of the votes were counted.
Results released after the polls closed showed Centre with 24.8 per cent, and coalition partner, the Social Democrats, with 22.9 per cent.
