Relations strain in advance of EU-Russia summit
On 18 May, European and Russian leaders are to meet in the Russian resort town of Samara for a bi-annual EU-Russia summit. The summit is being overshadowed by speculation that the EU could withhold its support of Russia's World Trade Organisation (WTO) entry unless Russia meets existing commitments to the EU.
