New electricity distribution cable to the Netherlands
Norway's Statnett and the Dutch central grid company Tennet will jointly build and operate the new cable for the distribution of electricity between Norway and Eemshaven in the Netherlands. The new NorNed cable will increase the distribution capacity between Norway and the Continent by around 20 per cent. The cable will have a capacity of 600 megawatts, or around half the consumption of the city of Oslo.
