Britain sets pace as Europe's fundraising booms - James Quinn
Fundraising by the industry across Europe reached a new €112bn (£76bn) record in 2006, with the lion's share of the money being spent and raised in the UK. New figures from Thomson, compiled for the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA), show 33pc of all European private equity investment was made in Britain.
