Danone to bid 12.3b euros for Dutch baby food maker
The French dairy product giant Danone is to launch a takeover offer for Dutch baby food group Numico worth 12.3 billion euros (US$16.7 billion), the companies said on Monday. The planned offer, which has the backing of Numico management, comes after Danone entered into talks last week to sell its biscuit division to US rival Kraft Foods for 5.3 billion euros.
