Morocco absence fuels Sarkozy divorce rumours
Cecilia Sarkozy, France's first lady, will not accompany President Nicolas Sarkozy on next week's state visit to Morocco, his spokesman said yesterday, again declining to comment on reports they are getting a divorce. "I have no comment to make on this issue," David Martinon told journalists who asked about a spate of articles in the past week reporting the Sarkozys had decided to end their 11-year marriage.
The French President is due to pay a state visit to Morocco next week, but Mrs. Sarkozy, a 49-year-old former model, will not accompany him, breaking with protocol that expects the President's wife to take part in such high-level trips.
