BAE Is Talking With 10 Countries About Sale Eurofighter - by Massoud A. Derhally and Emmet Oliver

BAE Systems Plc, Europe's biggest defense company, said it's in talks with at least 10 countries about selling Eurofighter Typhoon warplanes. The number of nations interested in the aircraft is in ``double figures,'' including several possible buyers in the Middle East, Simon Keith, BAE's managing director for the region, said today in an interview at the Dubai Air Show. The Middle East is London-based BAE's fourth-largest market, with sales last year increasing 20 percent to 2 billion pounds. Saudi Arabia, the area's largest economy, ordered 72 Eurofighters from the U.K. at a cost of 4.43 billion pounds ($8.86 billion) on Sept. 17 in the biggest export order for the aircraft.
