Ryan Air says its looking into carrying standing passengers for free

Ryan Air Chief Michael O’Leary has said he is looking into the possibility of letting passengers who are willing to stand up during flights, fly for free. Apparently the flights targeted will be those of 30 minutes or less. Most of the Ryan flights however, are more than an hour. The plan would need to be approved by the Irish Aviation Authority but the setup would include seats similar to trams or in restaurant cars on trains.

Like earlier announced "gimmicks" by Ryan Air like a Fat Tax, charge for toilet use and overweight handbags, this may also have been a publicity stunts. One of the biggest hurdles for this new idea would obviously be the safety factor of having people stand in the plane during take off and landing.
