"Benelux countries try to block Blair as EU president
A confidential document seen by the Telegraph shows that Benelux countries are trying to block a Briton becoming the first president of Europe.
Britain is regarded as too eurosceptic for a UK politician to take the newly created top job, says the paper.
Although the confidential document does not mention Tony Blair by name, the paper quotes a top diplomat as saying it is 'a polite way of saying that he is not the best placed candidate'."
