Britain’s international reputation will suffer as a result of the Conservatives’ links to European allies who are accused of anti-Semitism and homophobia, according to David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary. Labour and the Conservatives traded insults during their respective party conferences over the Tories’ alliance within the European Union with parties from Latvia and Poland said to be sympathetic to the far right. William Hague, the shadow foreign secretary, demanded an apology from Mr Miliband over a claim in the latter’s conference speech that the Tories were defending Latvian politicians who had commemorated the deaths of soldiers who fought for the Nazis.

Note EU-Digest: David Miliband is right, the British Conservative party does not seem to have the interest of Britain at heart but rather seeks to wreck the EU and to follow a neo-con destructive route for Britain. One can only hope that sound minds will prevail in the British Conservative party.
