Europe Welcomes 2010 with a bang

In France, the Eiffel Tower was turned into a spectacle of fireworks.
The people gathered at the tower to witness the grand celebration and partied
in the streets to start the year with a bang.
After about an hour, London, with its 200,000 people lined the banks of River Thames to welcome 2010. Fancy fireworks lit up the sky and exploded out of the London Eye, the giant ferris wheel across from the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.

Meanwhile, in Edinburgh, about 80,000 people came to participate in the annual Hogmanay outdoor street party. There were fireworks by the Edinburgh Castle.

And more than a million showed up at the Brandenburg Gate, the symbol of German unity in Berlin. The party there included live shows complete with bands and DJs.
