MF, Iceland reach tentative deal on funds

Iceland and the International Monetary Fund say they have reached a tentative agreement to begin a review that will allow the release of further critical funds to the crisis-hit Nordic country.

The pair said Friday that the review is "tentatively scheduled" to be discussed by the IMF's executive board on April 16.

Once that review is completed, Iceland will be eligible to draw around $160 million more from a $2.1 billion bailout package agreed in November 2008 to help Iceland back on its feet after the global financial crisis.
