Israel must apologize and pay compensation, says Turkey

Turkey continues to hound Israel over its navy commando raid on a flotilla of aid ships bound for Gaza.

The Turksh President Abdullah Gul has said the attack on ships manned by activists attemtping to break the Gaza blockade, was a crime and was something one would expect from a group like al-Qaeda, rather than a sovereign state. Gul has also said Israel should apologize for the attack and pay compensation. Nine activists were killed in the attack.

Speaking to the French daily newspaper Le Monde, the Turkish president hinted his country would terminate diplomatic ties unless the Jewish state changed its attitude.
