Netherlands Sticks to Building Nuclear Plants

The conservative Dutch cabinet sees no reason to reconsider the construction of one or several nuclear plants.
As a nuclear plant may be on the point of exploding in Japan, the Netherlands is keeping a cool head. Politicians of both government and opposition parties consider it off-color to start the Dutch debate on nuclear energy over the heads of the Japanese victims.

Nuclear plants are exactly as safe as last Thursday, according to the Labor PvdA MP Diederik Samsom. "For us, on Thursday we considered too many risks attach to nuclear energy, for example due to human and technical errors in nuclear plants. That we still believe."
