Germany confronts right-wing extremism

The discovery last year of a terror cell that killed at least 10 people and went undetected by authorities for a decade has forced Germany to re-examine the way it deals with far-right extremism in recent months.

Interior ministers from all 16 German states agreed to begin the process to ban the National Democratic Part (NPD), which is represented in two state parliaments. But it's likely to prove a long and difficult process. And it's one that failed once before.
