Aircraft Industry: Airbus A350-900 prototype gets complete wing

Airbus A350
The first Airbus A350-900 that will fly now has a complete wing, with only the engines to come before its visual profile is complete. First flight is expected by June, and it might be ready to visit the Paris Air Show that month.

The question which needs to be asked is how many 787-8s will be flying by then, and in terms of a more similar sized Dreamliner, do we have to expect that the A350-900 will be in service, without its originally intended lithium ion batteries  but nickel cadmium alternatives, before the stretched fuselage 787-9 gets delivered to launch customer Air New Zealand?

It is a cruel question to pose. But the way Boeing butchered the Dreamliner vision was also cruel, under a management that failed to respond to the issues with its original design and construction sharing plan, letting it struggle from one organisational calamity to another, all with an embrace of reinforced carbon fibre plastics technology that if nothing else, required firm, coherent control.
